Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wyoming
stipulations on bail
My stepson is out of jail on a 500k cash bond for second degree murder. His trial is not until March of 2008. One of his stipulations is to be at a stated residence by 8:30 p.m. every night until 5:30 a.m. every morning. Another one is random drug testing at his (our) expense. He is not yet convicted of any crimes. This seems a violation of his rights. Are these stipulations legal?

Re: stipulations on bail
Rule 46.1 of the Wyoming Rules of Criminal Procedure all the court to enter stipulations to insure the appearance of the defendant and protect the public.
Your son has two choices:
1. Abide by the bond terms.
2. Go back to jail and await trial
