Legal Question in Family Law in Wyoming

Contempt of Court

My husband owes his ex wife almost $3000 in past medical bills and she has decided to take him to court and hold him in Comtempt. I beleive that she will win this and I want to know what will happen to my husband. Will they just place a judgement or ?? What would happen if he were not to show up to the hearing? Thanks

Re: Contempt of Court

The Court could decide to garnish or attach his wages, assets and bank account/s until the debt is paid.

If your husband fails to Appear, the Court is likely to decide that your husband has/had the money to pay, and he failed or refused to pay, what was due and owing, without good cause; and as a result, his EX has suffered great harm or injury. If such a determination is made, a Warrant could issue for your husband's arrest until he Appears in Court and until, he comes up with the money.

Good luck,
