Legal Question in Family Law in Wyoming

disowning family

I do not like my immediate family. They are not in my life and have been abusive to me.

Is there a way to get ''legally disowned'' from my blood siblings and parents so that I am not required to law to contact them or have contact with them at anytime in the future under any circumstances be it accident, marriage, financial or death

can i do this on my own by getting the papers from a court somewhere and just file them myself?

I am a 35 yr old adult female with no criminal record.

Re: disowning family

At age 35, you are legally entitled --- without need of any court order --- to totally cut off and cease all communication and contact with your family, so that you are not any longer have anything to do with any of them. There is no need (nor does the law make any provision for) a court order to make this effective. It is attained purely by "self-help."

You are under no legal obligation to see them, talk to them, or whatever. And if they call you, tell them you do not want to hear from them or have anything to do with them.

Best way to accomplish this is to moved to a different city and obtain a court-ordered change of name. Essentially, you assme a new ID and a new personna.
