Legal Question in Family Law in Wyoming
Can her parents legally keep us apart?
Well first off im 18 and my girlfriend is 16
Her parents found out about us and didnt approve although they still have yet to even meet me, or even talk to me.
They found out we had been having sex and threatened statutory rape if i didnt stop seeing their daughter.
I did research and found out that wyoming law says that legal age of consent is 16 and although we DID have sexual relations when she was still 15 it says unless im 4 years older than her at the time we had sex (which im not) then it doesnt constitute rape.
I wanted to first off make sure i have that right and that this is true.
Also they have threatened to have me arrested if im even seen with their daughter and they also said that if she runs away i will get in trouble for it
I want to know if legally her parents can make us stop all communication with each other and if they can legally keep us apart.
Also is there any way i CAN get in trouble if she runs away?

I concur with Mr. Lubnau. While you might not technically meet the requirements of the sexual assault statutes, you run the risk of prosecution under 14-3-105 - indecent liberties with a child (anyone under age 18). What kind of relationship can you have with this girl if her parents are going to be riding shotgun over the thing? Not worth the risk and it sounds like the parents are not going to let this thing die down.

YES!
Quit having sex with fifteen year olds.
Her parents can supervise her, and raise her. They can get a court order requiring you not to contact her.
It is a crime for you to help her run away.
It may be a crime for you to use electronic means to solicit sex with her.
If you truly love the girl, wait until she is an adult. If you don't love her, find someone your own age.
