Legal Question in Family Law in Wyoming

Wyoming Child Custody Mediation

I am seeking custody of my child and I have a couple of questions about the process.

1. Do Wyoming courts require mediation if the parents cannot agree on a custody arrangement?

2. If they do, do they waive this requirement if there is a domestic violence situation where I would be forced to interact with my abuser?

3. If they do require mediation, who pays for it?

Thank you.

Re: Wyoming Child Custody Mediation

You seem to have put in the wrong geographic location for your question.

As a NY attorney, this is not within my direct knowledge. You must check with a Wyoming lawyer.

My guess is that mediation is never 'required', although a judge may order it. Where there is physical abuse, the likelihood of court ordered mediation is VERY small.
