Physicians/Medical Institutions Responsibility to Inform Patient of Test Results

If a personal physician requests tests to check into an area of concern due to severe and abnormal symptoms and the report returns with findings of something wrong, what is the responsibility to the patient if the findings prove that misdiagnosis has occurred by the physician and that surgery may be required?

Re: Physicians/Medical Institutions Responsibility to Inform Patient of Test Res

That depends upon what has occurred as a result of the mistake in diagnosis. If significant injury has occurred as a result of the error, a claim may exist. It is also important to know the law of the jurisdiction (state) where the care was given. Malpractice law varies greatly from state to state. If you feel you have sufferred needless injury you should consult an attorney in your locale.
