Legal Question in Banking Law in India

I was having a cc account in a bank. Being frustrated with the bank behavior, I wrote a letter to the bank manager to close my account being unsatisfied with the banking services. A few days later, the bank replied with another letter that's being a reputed customer of our bank, we don't want to close your bank account. Meanwhile the communication was going on between bank and me, I suffered a great loss in my bank account. So, is the bank responsible for the loss for creating a lot of delay in closing the bank account or not?

what is the loss you are telling. If it can be quantified, then issue a notice by registered post to the bank to close the account and compensate you for the loss amount. If they fail to comply, send a notice to the Bank's Chairman or M.D. to comply with your demand. If he fails to do so within a month, then file a complaint to the Banking Ombudsman. You can get the details of Banking Ombudsman and procedure from RBI website.
