Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

about my son

Ok i just got remarried and i want my new wife to have legal parental rights to my son. I want her to be able to take him to the doctor if needed or sign papers at school if she needs to and if i am out of town she will have legal rights to him as well. I have him one week friday thru friday and then his mom has him the same. so can you please help me with this and tell me what we need to do. like i said i want my new wife to have the same rights as his mom or me do. so please try to help me with this. thanks

Well, as a legal matter, his biological mother will always have rights, unless she gives him up for adoption to your new wife, for some reason she loses the right to joint custody, which is what it sounds like the two of you have. As a practical matter, you can give your new wife power of attorney to sign papers for you, for example.
