wage garnishments

can both my spouse and myself be garnished at the same time by the same creditor? What can I file in the courts to stop us both from getting garnished, and only make one type of payment?

If the debt was incurred during marriage, they can garnish both of you. If not, they should not be garnishing the non-incurring spouse's wages. File a motion to stop garnishment with the court that issued the garnishment order.
