Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Arizona

Loans to my boyfriend

I have lent my (now ex) boyfriend quite a few loans for various things (i.e. a motorcycle, a car, bail money) and now he's refusing to pay it back. I have proof for all that I've lent him (mostly checks made out to whomever the purchase was being made through). What can I do to recover my losses? We have not had anything in writing, but we have had verbal agreements with witnesses present. What type of action should I take? Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
