Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

trusts

My brother is the trustee of my Fathers trust. He (my father) has been dead for 7yrs. My brother said I need to pay for accounting of $3700 or he will take me to court.

1) Can he do that?

2) What will happen to me ?

Re: trusts

You have not provided any facts upon which an opinion or advice may be given. In general, the trustee of a trust must render an accounting of the trust to all of the beneficiaries of the trust. I do not know upon what basis he can require you to make an accounting to him. You can go to the court and demand that he account for his actions as trustee and seek appointment of another to act as trustee.

Re: trusts

I would need more information to be able to say what could or should happen. I don't understand what kind of trust this is, and I don't know what you mean by "my Fathers trust" (whether you mean a trust created by your father (as trustor) or trust in which your father was the beneficiary or something else). It is unclear what your relationship is to the trust (or if you have any relationship to the trust). Attorneys when rendering opinions relating to specific situations need relevant facts.
