Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

Is this a violation of privacy?

There is a website that is willing to sell information about me (name, dob, address, previous addresses, neighbors names, phone & addresses) without my permission. They wont say where they obtained information, but are willing to sell it to anyone with $10. They do not have anyway for a person to opt-opt of the program (they say they are developing that). I feel like my rights are being violated. Is there anything that I can do? Is this legal for them to do?

Re: Is this a violation of privacy?

Unfortunately each of the personal items you describe is part of a public record - usually those of the Motor Vehicle Division. Some are in the phone book. It is not presently unlawful to publish public information without the permission of the person involved.
