Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Cannot cancel the subscription

Hi,

My wife, who is ever purchased anything online, just signed up a membership on the homework website. We realized that it is not worth to pay for the service and wanted to cancel the subscription. However, the site keeps telling us ''invalid credit card number'' even if they've never asked for credit card number on the form. it is very misleading. No telephone or direct email is ever listed on the site. It seems like cancellation is not honorable even there is a 30-day full refund policy.

Please advice.

Re: Cannot cancel the subscription

Tell your credit card company that you dispute the charge, and explain why. Also, the vendor should have your credit card number on file, so you should contact the vendor directly by mail, certified return receipt. If you don't know its address, you can do a WHOIS search on one of the websites that provide that service.
