Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Hi I bailed my husband out of jail in Nov. He missed his court date but recently went to court.... His sister who was the co-signer said because I was late on my payments they seized her tax return check and took 5000 out and left her 3000.... Mind you i only owe $395 left on his bail I already Paid $435...... Now she said if i dont make the full payment by tommorrow they will seize her paycheck? I dont understand can they really do that
