Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

THIRD REQUEST guys and gals of the legal world!

I have notified my three credit card companies that I am unable to pay the balances of my cards.I am an eighty year old senior, single, renter, living on social security, medicare,medical.Have been current through August, stopped the use of cards 7/1/09

and my assets to date is one 1992 auto.I have nothing to speak of that they would want.Any suggestions?

It appears when the word free is mentioned and no money is involved for any recourse the answers never come.This has been my experience

this last few weeks in seeking help on the web.

It sounds like you might be judgment proof. However, the problem is that you occasionally have some money in the bank from your social security. If the creditors obtain a judgment, the bank account could be fair game until you go to court to assert an exemption to stop a levy.

Since at present there are no lawsuits filed against you, then your concern might be premature. If a lawsuit should be filed against you, then you should seek legal help without delay or take other steps to stop the lawsuit. But one should not use credit cards when one knows that they can't be paid back. Good luck to you, and I'm sorry for not answering your earlier inquiries.
