Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Check on dui disposition

I recieved convictions for DUI (3) in 1997. The original was in Aliso Viejo Ca. and was recorded as a .07 both by breath and blood. This was not enough to convict for DUI and after confewring with the D.A. and without other legal representation I pleaded guilty to a (wet&reckless) even though at the time I was cited I was pulled over and parked on the side of the road. In the next three months I recieved 2 more DUI tickets which constituted ( multiple offenses ) did 10 days jail time then was remanded to a Veterns program for alcohol/drug abuse. I stayed almost two years and completed this program entirely. Durring that time I attended ''Clare'' DUI school aprox 18 months but was unable to finish the last 3 classes. The DMV issued my license ( restricted ) over two years ago but recently while on a bycycle in Manhatten Beach I was stopped by the police and told I have an outstanding warrant for arrest resulting from the original 1997 reckless driving conviction. I went to the DMV recently and got a printout of my history and it shows nothing outstanding. I will be teaching school this Fall and need to know if I still have an outstanding warrant, and if so how do I clear it?

Re: Check on dui disposition

Thank you for your posted inquiry.

Offenses in Aliso Viejo would be handled out of the court in Laguna Niguel, since there is no court in Aliso Viejo.

To clear up a warrant, you'll need to appear, or have an attorney appear for you, and be arraigned on a probation violation. You should do this sooner, rather than later, as the delay in time is one of the factors in punishment and setting bail when the warrant is recalled.

If you want to email me privately with your full name and date of birth, I can give you information as to whether or not there is a warrant here in Orange County.

I hope that this information helps, and please feel free to email me directly at [email protected], anytime. Im happy to help in any way that I can.

If current DMV printout shows no warrant, there is none. Check directly with each of the courts if you have doubts.
