Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

I am interested in writing and co-producing a play in S.F. The factor that would make our concept work is to have the entire dialogue of one of the characters, for the first act, be taken from transcripts (word for word) of radio and T.V. personalities from previously broadcast shows. Is it true that once a pundit expresses themselves over the public airways that is falls into the realm of public domain? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The broadcasts are the property of the radio station and/ or production of the show and no part of the broadcast may be reproduced without permit ion from the station/producer of the original broadcast. You will find that most radio stations will grant you the permit ion to use the material in your play if you contact them.
