Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am 27 years old and struggling through this economic crunch right now. I have recently been back in touch with my father whom I hadn't really known until I was 20. I found out recently that he'd been paying back child support from when I was 5 or 6 years old. I know I haven't gotten any money from anyone, and I called my mother to see if she'd been receiving it, and she is not either. Who is getting the money and why? My Mom was on welfare when I was really young, but not for any longer than a year IF that. Should her or I have anything coming to us? I know I could sure use the extra money now. Thanks,

Ray

Child support goes to your mother. Contact Department of Child Support Services in your county. They will have the record. Your mother should contact them and she will receive the money if it is not paid to her. Here is the website for State of California. Each county has its own office and enforces the child support. Wesbite is: http://www.childsup.ca.gov.
