Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child custody and child support

I live in Arizona and my ex and daughter live in California. I have joint custody of our daughter, and her primary place of residence is suppose to be with her mom. I tried getting custody because she is not and has not lived with her mom for over a year. I was told it was considered ''Child Abandonment.'' I don't have finances to hire a lawyer or pay child support. I would like our daughter to live with me. Can someone work with me and help me out?

Re: Child custody and child support

There are a number of facts that you have not included in your question. First: how old is your daughter. Second: where is she presently living. Third: how far awar does mother live. Fourth: Why is she living with this other family. Fifth: does she want to live with you. During a review of the facts of your case other questions will no doubt arise.
