Legal Question in Family Law in California

Does my husband still have to support me even if we are not legally separated. We have been married 17 years, selling our home. Im a stay at home mom for past 5 years, have two kids. Tells me I need to find an apartment and is pressuring me to get a job. Ive been looking for a job but cant find one plus i have been taking care of kids and he has abandoned us for 3 weeks. He did not visit his kids and left me here to deal with everything including the selling process of the house. It is really difficult for me to deal with all these and still trying to go out and find a job. He left about a month ago and recently started to spend time with the kids.

Until you file an seek court orders for the support of your and your children, there is no way to enforce your husband's obligation to provide financial support. You need to obtain whatever assistance you need in order to file and proceed to obtain court orders. The facilitator's office at the court may be the best place to start. Hiring an attorney would the best way to gett the needed court order's as soon as possible.
