Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi there, I'm moving to North Carolina and my question is : I have a 17 y/o daughter who I don't custudy of but she has been living with me for the last 4 years. Her dad has custudy of her. He lives in Los Angeles, CA and I live in Savramento CA. For the last four years my daughter lived with me he didnt help me with one cents or spoke to her over the phone one time so he never call or seek for her. I guess he got mad at her for moving in with me. Now my question is since I don't have custudy but she has been living with me for the last four years do I get in trouble with the law ? He only gave me a letter saying that she could live with me but didn't give me custudy and now I want to go to court to do change of venue but I don't know if it's ok she is moving out state with me to North Carolina? Thank you fr taking the time to read this question and have a nice day.🙏

You need to determine if your ex will object to your daughter moving to North Carolina with you. If he objects and you move, you risk the court in Los Angeles County, ordering you to return your daughter to California.
