Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in the process of divorcing my wife of 25 years. We have a disable adult daughter 23 years of age. My spouse quite her job of 10 years to stay home and care for our daughter. I was told I would be required to pay child support. My daughter is in receipt of SSI benefit. Is this true that I will be required to pay child support for and adult daughter and spousal support. My wife does have income from the state, IHSS/WCP. So she does have an income.

The short answer is yes as to both questions. In determining support, the court would also take into consideration all the items you mentioned in determining the amount. Good luck!

Yes, you can pay both "child support" and spousal support. The calculation is complex, you will need an attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
