Billing Dispute
6/2000in a minor car accident and seeked care from medical provider who participated with my healthcare ins.The Dr's office said they would submit the bill directly to Allstate.I received a small settlement from Allstate. February 2003, I receive a bill from the Dr. saying they submitted a bill to Allstate.Allstate will not pay because they say they allowed for my medical bill in my bodily injury settlement. So the Dr's office is billing me. My question being, is there a time limit on when a doctor has to submit a bill to the patient? My health insurance won't pay because it was an automobile accident.There were numerous attempts made in trying to get the Dr. to submit a bill to Allstate and the dr's office never sent a bill until feb 2003 because they claim they had an incompetent billing staff and they got audited.Do I have any rights.

you may have rights, but i would have to see a copy of the settlement agreement between you and allstate regarding medical bills. if you email me the pertinent points in that agreement regarding medical bills being included in your settlement with them, i may be able to assist you starting from there.
