Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

change job within company after GC application started

I have a question regarding changing jobs within the same company. If the job title is different but within the same company, at which stage can I swtich job in the same company? LC, I 140 or 485? At which stage changing company is allowed without comproming GC process.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Re: change job within company after GC application started

Hi,

It will be safer to proceed with the change after the I-140/i-485 were pending for 180 days or more. Under the new portability rules of the AC21 act you should be ok with job changing, employer switching and things of this nature.

Hope this helps. Feel free to call if you need assistance 619-819-9204,

As a US citizen a child has all the citizen's rights provided under the law, including the right to petition for a relative's entry in the States but subject to the existing preferences, including the one allowing a citizen child at its majority to petition for a parent. You may want to consult a "certified" immigration attorney.

[never mind the first response - wrong question]

It should be : "A change of status is always possible but remember that any change may hinder the process, especially if you are attempting to change the type of job originally sought. You may want to consult a "certified" attorney."
