Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Overpayment of salary

For approximately 6 months, unbeknownst to me, I was paid an overage on my paycheck of approximately $6,000. Now my employer is asking that I repay this amount, even though it was not an error of mine, but theirs. Is there a statute of limitation on when my employer can demand that I repay this money. Or is there some way I can fight this?

Re: Overpayment of salary

The statute of limitations would be 4 years if you have a written employment contract, otherwise it would be 2 years.
