Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Can my apartment bldg manager ask me my sexual orientation ? I am a 10 yr resident, as the managering gay couple , coming up on 3 yrs. Shortly after getting his "no" he pursued trying to evict my pet. The pet he always knew of. The previous manager of 7 years, had a pet, and a horrendously noisy one. Owners took action against my pet after this bldg mgr, later, decided then to take action, after 3 yrs.

As of yesterday, my V.A. phychiatrist has enabled me to keep pet now being a "Service Animal" under federal law, under prescription FHAA of 1973. So...with that aside and resolved..

1)sexual orientation questioning by apartment manager

2)owner's prior knowingly, choosing no pet removal action against previous manager, who is concidered famly i *** Can this no-pet law be turned on and off at the owner's discretion ? ***

Politely point out to the manager that since it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and the issue is irrelevant to your being able to perform your duties, you do not want him to get into possible trouble so you will not answer the question even though the answer will not be one that he would reasonably be upset with.

A no pet policy must be consistent and can not vary based upon who the pet owner is.
