Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

HI,

I have a colection agency of some sort calling me. I am not now or have I ever been in any type of collection. They call themselves CCR associates. It is a call that says they will take action against me but is not too specific. I callled the number they left me (866)916-5333. They said they can not give me information unless I give my SSN. Which I wont do. My father is in the hospital on life support and these calls are beyond annoying at this time. How do I get them to stop calling?

Thanks,

Janice.

Janice,

Collection agencies are prohibited from making harassing phone calls and as you may now, there are very specific rules that regulate their activities. Do you mind contacting me to discuss your experience? The collection agency tactics you refer to sound very similar to actions we are currently pursuing on behalf of other clients. Feel free to call or email me.

Bryan
