my mother who has severe dementia and who has been determined to be incapacitated was taking to a lawyer and forced to change her power of attorney to a former friend. How can i undo this as quickly as possible? I am in california...

If your mother is also in California there a couple of things you might consider. First, you may want to report this to Adult Protective Services in the County where your mother is living if you suspect financial or other abuse may result from this Power of Attorney. Secondly, you may want to consider a conservatorship for your mother.

If you want to act as quickly as possible, you need to hire an attorney whereever your mother is located to file an emergency conservatorship of your mother and revoke the POA.
