Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

OK to rent a room in a home involved in probate.

I am the proposed executor and administrator of my late parents estate, which principally consists of their house. Probate is in process with initial hearing next week.

I have long insurance background and am comfortable with paperwork so am handling it pro per.

I am living in the home, as I have been since it was purchased as my late parents were disabled and I was caring for them.

Further, I have homesteaded the home.

I am the beneficiary on my late parents wills.

My question is?

I am considering renting out a room to a tenant to help defray estate ongoing expenses.

Is this allowed?

What would be the considerations?

Thank you for your help!
