Salaried employee
If my manager tells me I have to travel for 1 week 1200 miles away for something I don't believe in
Do I have to go just because they pay me a salary?
It is out of the ordinary for me to be travelling for work

You do have to travel, if you want to keep the job.
There are two situations that may change this, however:
1. You have some sort of disability that makes it difficult/impossible to travel, and the employer would have to reasonably accomodate you; or
2. You could argue that it is a fundamental change in your work duties and effectively a "demotion" (constructive dismissal).
Pragmatically speaking, you don't want to lose your job or quit and then sue. I suggest you travel.
