Not legally. All indigent accused are entitled to be represented by competent counsel in felony cases. Whether or not one is indigent is often in dispute, and the court may need to become involved. Consult a lawyer who practices criminal defense in your community for detailed information. Initial consultations are usually done at no cost. Your local Bar Association will have further references. Call them.
