Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

I have a contempt of court citation for not answering a written interrogatory months ago. I'm being taken to court by a collections company. Can they really put me in jail because of this?

It all depends on the facts if jail is a possibility. If this is the first time you have faced possible sanctions in this case, then you may be ok. The court could order that you pay the plaintiffs attorney fees or some other sanction, but this is purely a guess.

You are strongly advised to speak to an attorney to prepare for this hearing and understand your rights. Never ignore anything related to this case or you will find yourself faced with another contempt motion and considerably greater chances for serious sanctions.
