Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

My adult brother's 3 teen children were taken out of school by social services, he was not notified. He showed up at the school and the school told him. He was told by the police to show up the next morning at 8am for an "investigation of abuse phoned in by a person." when he showed up he was detained and placed into the jail without booking and no bond. They did not tell him what they were investigating him about. We found out from his exwife that he was detained because her teenage daughter and her cooked up a scheme to say he raped her so she go live with her mom (he has custody). He still has not been charged or booked-in so he cannot have visitors yet. He tried to kill him self on day two when a lawyer friend got in contact with him and told him the real story. He is on suicide watch and has no family contact. He has never been in trouble before and he is devistated by this. We are afraid he will commit suicide. How do we get him out of jail when he isn't being charged, booked or even been to court? We live in colorado. The attorney wants 7500 to retain him up front but we cannot afford this, what do we do since my borthers state of mind is on meltdown?

He should have seen a judge within 72 hours and bond should have been set. If your brother has no money, a public defender will be appointed to represent him. Unfortunately, $7500 is not out of line and may be considered low in representing someone in your brother's situation. A payment plan is sometimes an option, I do take payments on these type of cases, so feel free to call me if you want. Good luck.
