Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Habitual Offender from CO

I received a DUI in CO in 1994 which classified me as habitual. I have lived out of state for approx 10 years.I did my time in jail, paid my fines, went through counselling at a mental health facility.I inquired about getting a license in LA a few years back and CO has no record of my counsel. The DMV waived the sr-22 requirement, but still wants me to spend more $ to retake the education. I have been sober for years. Are there no latches in CO DMV law?

Re: Habitual Offender from CO

if you go to the DMV website, under FORMS, there is a form you can fill out that says something to the effect of: I no longer have an alcohol problem and do not need counseling.

this should satisfy DMV.

You could try to find the counseling company and they may have a copy, but I doubt it.
