Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

ticket

I was stopped and did not get a ticket, took no test and now DA wants me to go to court after 6 weeks. Is that legal?

Re: ticket

It is hard to tell what is going on from the few details you provided. You should confer with an attorney.

Re: ticket

Call me and we can discuss your situation, but in order to establish jurisdiction, the DA or police need to personally serve you - meaning give you a summons or subpoena.

If a crime is committed, even traffic, the police do not have to ticket or arrest you immediately. They can arrest your or give you a summons, supported by probable cause to believe that you committed a crime, until the statute of limitations runs out.

I suggest that you do not answer any questions of the DA or police and that you invoke your right to counsel if they contact you.

Call me about your specific situation - 720-406-6969.
