Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Father wants sole custody, no marrige involved

My fiance has left me and we have a 1 year old son together. I am very stable and have been for years. She on the other hand is not and wants him to live with her in a old fifth wheel trailer with her mother who is 40 somthing and an ex-con husband who is 27 who will be out of prison soon. She has never been stable exept the 2 years with me. every time somthing gets hard like now she leaves and runs. i know my sons mother would never hurt him but i don't feel like it is a very good environment for him to be in though. She also left me... and I am scared that she may someday want to leave and take my son and not tell me and i may never see him again. I want to do something out of court if possible and i don't want to limit her time to see him, she has just as much of a right as i do in my opinion. but i want to secure my rights and make sure he is ok and if she is not providing a good home i want to be able to change the way things are. we both want him to live with us evenly. please help in what i can do. and if i could get sole custody on those grounds. All i want is what is best for my son. I don't want things to get ugly since that will only hurt my son.

I don't know what you can do out of court to ensure the things you are concerned about.

In court you can become the guardian of the child which authorizes you to take him out of a dangerous situation.

Obtaining sole custody would be most difficult.
