Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Post-divorce military housing claim

My divorce was final 4 AUG. Prior to my divorce, my husband and I submitted a military housing claim to cover damages caused by a military move. That claim money has since been given to my ex-husband. Am I entitled to the claim money for the property designated as mine now that I am divorced?

Re: Post-divorce military housing claim

Yes. Any claim payment to which you were individually entited prior to the divorce remains yours after the divorce. If it was not dealt with in the divorce, however, it may be difficult for you to obtain if your husband won't give it to you voluntarily.
