Legal Question in Personal Injury in Colorado

auto accident

I was in an auto accident may 31.07 the other driver was at fault. My car was totaled, Her insurance paid off my car. I have been seeing a chiropractor for 2 months now, and I will be done with that soon. So far most of my medical bills have been paid. The chiropractor will shend her his bill seperate. I am now going to look for ''pain and suffering'' settlement. A lot of my hobbies have been hampered due to this accident as I ride horses, and motorcycles. Is there a dollar amount to start with. I know the insurance company will want to low ball me. I will always have to go back to the chiroparactor for adjustments due to this accident? I only want to be fair, and look out for my well being.

Re: auto accident

One dollar is an amount to start with. You'll probably want to top out at about $10 billion. There are a good many lawyers in Colorado who specialize in automobile torts (accident injuries where fault lies with the other guy). Most offer free consultations and are pretty good about setting a value on pain and suffering, and anything else they can think of. None of them will low ball you; they have families to feed.

Good luck. And don't worry too much about being fair: the insurance company won't be losing any sleep worrying if they're fair to you.
