Legal Question in Personal Injury in Colorado

use of a private image

My father owned a resturant, and was an avid hunter, beloved by all. He died in 1987. Now the new owners of his old resturant have decorated a room with pictures of him and memorabilia. I have no idea where they got them. I want to know if it is against the law to profit from his image without permission from his children?

Re: use of a private image

It likely depends upon the terms of the contract for the sale of the restaurant. You should approach the owners, tell them your concerns, and ask for a copy of the contract, although that should already be among your father's effects.

Good luck.
