Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

Deposit Return/Interest on Deposit

How long does a landlord (apartment complex consisting of more than 150 units) have to return a deposit on a residential unit? And is interest due on any part of deposit. I put up a pet deposit/ unit deposit/ and key deposit. Complied with all rules and left unit in excellent condition and unit was re-rented and occupied three days after my departure. New address is on file with office.

Re: Deposit Return/Interest on Deposit

The landlord has 30 days following your vacation of the premises within which to either refund your deposits in full or provide you with an accounting of cleaning and/or damage charges deducted from your deposits, and then refund the balance.

Interest isn't owing until after 30 days has passed, and you have substantial other rights which kick in at that time also.
