Age Difference

I am 16 years old and I reside Colorado. Would it be a crime for me to date and/or have sexual relations with a 14 year old girl.

She must consent without any physical or drug aid and you must not be in a position of trust, ie teacher, coach, parent, priest, baby-sitter, guardian, etc. It does not matter if you are in a position of trust at that very moment, but simply whether the "victim" had extra reason to trust you or think you knew best.

If you are 16 and your girlfriend is 14 and both of you consent, you should not have any problems. If she gets too drunk or stoned to say yes or no, then you could have a problem.

The age difference alone does not cause you a problem.
