Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Hello, I just got a speeding ticket in the state of Louisiana for doing 86 in a 70. My drivers license is Colorado as that is also where I reside. I heard that Colorado doesn't transfer points for out of state tickets (that are misdemeanors) and wanted to know if this is true. If so, could I get away with not paying for the ticket in Louisiana (and would this follow me to other states if I decided to move later in life)?

In all likelihood I will probably just either pay the ticket or send an attorney to represent me. I also want to know whether or not my insurance rates would be affected if Colorado doesn't transfer points (in which case it would seem like paying the ticket would just be smartest).

If you neither pay nor appear for the LA citation, a bench warrant for your arrest will liklely be issued. You will not be extradicted if you are stopped in a state other than LA. LA won't pay to extradict you. In this case, you would be released from jail after only a few days. With an extradition hold, you would not get bail. Therefore, if you ignore the ticket, but stay out of LA, you are not looking at more that a few days in jail. Oh, and future employers would see that you have an outstanding arrest warrant. They may not want to hire you, knowing that you may call in sick/arrested.
