Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My mother in law is threatening to sue us for grandparents rights if we do not allow her to spend time with our 7 year old son. Can she so this?

She can try, she will not likely be successful. Absent extraordinary circumstances, no one except parents/guardians of a minor child have a right to any sort of visitation, however there are exceptions. I would be happy to further discuss the matter with you.
