Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

Refusal to pay bonus

I worked as a sales manager for a large company until last September. My bonus payment (commission) for the year was calculated and has yet to be paid. The company has since altered contracts for sales employees, stating that if they leave the company and fail to collect any outstanding monies owed within 30 days, they would be responsible to pay for the collection of the debts from clients. My contract did not state this. Also, the company has claimed a client is holding out on payment, that in turn is delaying my own bonus payment. Having contacted the client directly, they state they have had no contact from the company since I left. How do I go about getting the full bonus payment owed to me?

Re: Refusal to pay bonus

You may have a wages and hours claim that would be filed with the department of labor for past due wages.
