Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Auto Repair Problems

I had my car repaired by a local shop. I could not pick it up during shop hours so I asked them to lock it and leave it in their parking lot. They did this and the car was damaged when parties unknown ran into the side of the car. They refused liability. Are they correct?

Probably. The placing of the car in the parking lot was an accomodation to you. Once they did that, they were no longer liable for it. Good business sense would dictate that they should repair it if the damage is minimal but that is not the law.
