Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

credit card debt

I am working with a debt settlement agency for creit card debt. Today my husband got papers handed to him and now I have 20 days to repond. Can they garnish my pay or take my house or car? I have never been through this kind of thing before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: credit card debt

Under certain circumstances if they get a judgment they can garnish wages or take a car that is paid for. You should get an attorney to respond to the Complaint. Do not let it go to a default judgment where they will add a ton of other charges and attorneys fees.
