how long can a person be held on a criminal charge without a trial in florida.

This is not as simple an answer as it would seem. There are many time calculations to consider. There are shorter time periods in certain situations but two are definitive in Florida. On a misdemeanor the state has 90 days to bring to trial, and on a felony, 175 days. There are also loopholes to that as well. Need more facts for a better answer.
