Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Alimony (Florida)

I am divorced now almost a year. We mediated an agreement whereby I agreed to 3500 / month alimony. Is a mediation agreement for alimony considered a ''court order'' for alimony? I am now unemployed and receiving severance for 60 more days. When should I file a motion to abate the alimony?

Re: Alimony (Florida)

File a motion to abate the alimony IMMEDIATELY. Your hearing won't be for a couple of months anyway (if you're lucky), and the alimony doesn't stop until the court orders it.
