Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My daughter and her mother live in Michigan and I live in Florida. She will be spending the entire summer with me. She always cries when she has to go home. Do i legally have to send her back home to her mother? Can i get into trouble for allowing her to stay with me in florida.

Need more info - how old is the child - why does the mother have custody. You can always file a modification of child custody.
