Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am a gay US citizen who was in an almost 4 year relationship, living as married couple, with another man.. During this time I was abused emotionally and threatened with physical violence on several occasions. About 6 months ago I found out about his affair with another man. He left me immediately about 4 months ago. I had eye problems and found out that I had a detached retina that occurred during this time due to stress. The emergency room doctor also started medication immediately for stroke level high blood pressure caused by the stress and abuse. This man is a citizen of brazil here on a student/tourist VISA. Do I have legal recourse against him? Could he be deported because of this?
